How is the Financial Conduct Authority funded?
The FCA is a company limited by guarantee funded mainly by fees and levies on the firms it regulates (FSMA 2000 Sch 1ZA). Since 2012 the financial penalties it collects, less enforcement costs, are paid to HM Treasury rather than used to fund the FCA. It receives no general taxation for its running costs.
Thinking the FCA funds itself from the fines it imposes.
